Xtreme Queen tribute band rocks Barclay Square | Entertainment

Rumors of Freddie Mercury’s passing appear to be exaggerated as the Xtreme Queen tribute band appeared in Barclay Square on Tuesday at Festival In The Park. The band played plenty of Queen favorites, much to the delight of one of the largest crowds of the festival so far. Wednesday’s music features Garret Rowan from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Black Ridge at 5 p.m. and The Wire at 7 p.m. Thursday has a full schedule of musicians, with Alex Shumaker at 11 a.m., CCR tribute band Pendulum at 1 p.m., Fuse at 3 p.m., 8 Years Later at 5 p.m. and 7 Mile Run at 7 p.m. In addition to the regular daily events, Wednesday will see a boat safety demonstration by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission from 1 to 4 p.m. And Thursday — Independence Day — will end with fireworks on Indiana Hill after sunset.
