Entech Innovative Engineering | acquires IES

Entech Innovative Engineering, an award-winning fabrication studio based in Florida, has announced the acquisition of Innovative Entertainment Services, Inc. (IES), an acclaimed entertainment rigging firm.

The acquisition was completed on 1 May, and combines the core competencies of both firms to enable them to expand their offerings. IES will be able to significantly expand its range of services for theatrical projects, and Entech will now offer specialist rigging and inspection services.

Justin Stehr, executive director of Entech, says: “Serving the entertainment industry well these days demands that a provider can adapt to multiple disciplines and strategically grow to support an ever-growing industry.

“The standout technical providers in the entertainment industry, such as we are, must constantly be increasing core competency. It is very important to our clients that we be able to technically support and aid in the development of their visions while maintaining safety and reliability. The fact that Entech Innovative Engineering and Innovative Entertainment Services are now joined is an important step forward for both companies and a significant benefit to the clients of each.”

Unique perspective & deep knowledge

IES, founded in 2005 by entertainment industry veteran Tom Edelston and led by the late Mike Litz, is renowned for supplying rigging systems, inspection services, and stunt training to actors and technicians.

The firm’s clients include leading attraction and cruise line operators such as Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Viking Cruises, Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Legoland and Six Flags.

IES’ services include customised inventory tracking and performer and material traceability records as part of its ongoing periodic safety checks. This system offers real-time visibility and information on the condition of the system, as well as the degree of training provided for both support personnel and performers.

The company’s culture combines both theatre performers and technical staff. This unique ability to analyse theatrical systems from both performance and technical perspectives has contributed to long-term customer relationships. IES’s innovative rigging solutions stem from a cultural knowledge of how performance and safety are interconnected.

Entech Innovative Engineering recently shared that it is continuing to expand its footprint beyond theme parks as it works to redefine the possibilities of immersive experiences across various industries. The company’s diverse projects include science centres and museums, experiential marketing, speciality architecture projects and more.
